Hello! Doing another round of Listen To + Reading. I always appreciate suggestions from others when it comes to everything from playlists to books to podcasts to articles and more…so I thought I’d do a round up of things I’ve been listening to and reading this fall.
The past few weeks have included a lot of traveling, so I’ve got some more book recommendations than I usually would – and I’m not mad about it!
Not too many podcasts this season because I have been catching up on my churches sermons the Sundays we are not in attendance + listening to Dave Ramsey. However, these videos from Dave Ramsey are POLAR opposite, but are such a fun listen:

I’ve watched this a couple of times because it is SO good.
I grabbed this book while waiting for a flight back home and finished it in a few hours. It’s written by the author of The Martian, about a young heroine who lives on the Moon in a colony called Artemis. It was fast-paced and a great quick, light read.
I have yet to watch the movie, and so since I was traveling again I thought this would be a good pick for another flight. And the book was really good! Highly recommend it if you enjoyed the movie.
The true story of how a young woman grew up living off-the-grid, with no birth certificate or education, in a violent, mentally unstable, survivalist family, and found her own way, step by step, to a Ph.D. at Cambridge University. This is a riveting account of growing up in a world where violence is part of every day life, and the emotional toll that takes on a child, to the incredible, potent power of education to haul oneself out.
I am reading this slowly, to really let it sink in and take each point to heart. It’s a great read for any person who wants to run a creative business. The author cuts through all the “follow your passion” garbage with laser sharp precision and reveals what is essential to run a successful design business today.
Please share your favorite fall reads and listens so far. I’d love any book or podcast suggestions you might have!
