50 Call To Actions that Convert

When I was a promotional marketing designer at a marketing firm for plastic surgeons and doctors, we had a team of a 3 with over 300 clients that we created and sent out emails for monthly. With each practice or medspa having 1,000-15,000 names on their email lists, we sent A LOT of emails for their monthly specials, events, and announcements. One of the most important aspects of our emails was that they had a STRONG call to action, urging the patient to go to the website and book an appointment. The call to action in most cases was the most important part of the email and was one of the first things that were seen in an email.

Now, even though I am in B2B marketing, emails and call to actions are still important. Whether you have a blog or are trying to drive traffic to your Amazon Links page, LiketoKnowIt account, new blog post, free ebook, you still need a solid, time-sensitive call-to-action.

Creative call to actions:

  • Give your brand more personality and a glimpse of who you are, and how you would speak to the potential client/customer/user – one of my favorites is a social creative consultant who addresses her potential clients as “Superwoman.” For example, “Let’s Chat, Superwomen!” This already signifies to potential clients that she believes in them, is trustworthy and wants the best for her clients.
  • Are clear and specific. Examples – No: Download Now | Yes: Download My Ebook Now. Focus on what your target audience desires, and let them know exactly what you want them to do.
  • Are time sensitive and create a sense of urgency. Make sure to not be spammy with this – you want to create a sense of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). So, Show Now While Supplies Last OR Buy today! Sale Ends Monday! Use these kinds only once or twice on your landing page – you want to sell, but not become a car salesman. 😉
